This is abysmal. The fact that someone can be so incredibly close-minded (not to mention homophobic) about a form of art. Photography is an artistic expression. Photography is difficult. A drawing or music is created directly from the imagination. Photographers take what the world gives them and turn it into something that alters your perspective on any subject matter they choose. When they do it right, photographers can show you an entirely new dimension from old, worn-out material.
Photography takes patience. Photography takes skill. Photography takes the incredible ability to alter how viewers see the world around them using a simple lens and a sharp fucking mind. There are those who play pretend with their expensive cameras but then are professionals that take the time to hone their craft and not only have the selflessness to obtain memories through photography of only those around them but also the drive to continue to strive to create something new, thought-provoking, and beautiful. The emotion a person can feel from a simple photograph is absolutely staggering and no single human being has the right to think they can rule out ANY form of self-expression through insults and generalizations.
I have an immense respect for those that can continue to pursue what they love. Self-expression through art makes for a beautiful world and incredible people. No amount of insults or berating will ever stop you from doing what you love. You are incredible no matter what you choose to do.
